Time has come for another SoFlaDSM/SFME range day!

The location:
Pops Range
6101 U.S. 27
Southwest Ranches, FL 33332

Range hours on the 17th are 9am to 6pm. We will meet at the range at 10am. Range fees are ~$25 per person for *ALL DAY* shooting! The indoor ranges you usually shoot at will hit you up for $15+ per HOUR!

This range is also a "bring your own" type of range. They will generally not have have eye protection, ear protection, targets, ammo, or firearms available for loan/rent. Sometimes you might get lucky, other times not so much so PLAN AHEAD! Let me know what you will need as far as eyes/ears/targets/ammo and I'll work with you to try and get things squared away. I have extra sets of eye and ear protection I can loan, and I know some of our members also have extras they may be able to loan.

Firearms/ammo/targets:
This range is an "anything goes" range; rifles, pistols, shotguns, machine guns, grenade launchers, explosives. Bring it all and lets have some fun!

For those of you who do NOT own any firearms, worry not! There will be a selection to chose from:

12ga shotgun (Remington 11-87)
.223 rem (AR-15 pistol)
9mm (G34, G19, AR-15, etc.)
.22lr (Ruger 22/45)
.45 ACP (G21)
.308 win (Savage 16)
7.62x39 win (AK-47)

You can find the above ammo at your local Wal-mart and/or sporting goods stores, or go online.

I'll also have a supply of 9mm ammo available for purchase at a price of $12 per 50/rd box.

I will bring wood and cardboard for the target stands, I will also have an assortment of small (8.5"x11") paper targets available, however *PLEASE* bring your own targets! Plastic bottles of at least 1 gallon in size are permissible; just fill them with water and remove the cap! Bring duct tape to patch them up, and you can run them practically all day! Fire extinguishers, watermelons, and other assorted fruits/veggies can be dispatched as well. What ever it is, just be willing to clean up your mess! If you have questions call or PM me and I'll let you know if your intended target(s) can be used.

Safety:
Keep in mind that as this range is an outdoor range (don't worry, the firing line is covered/shaded) there is no automatic target retrieval system -- when you're done shooting you will have to wait for the line to go "cold" before you can go down range to work with targets. Also, while the range is "cold" firearm actions must be locked open, and magazines must be removed. There is also absolutely *NO* handling of firearms *AT ALL* on a "cold" line!

RSVP:
Please RSVP as soon as possible!

See you at the range!

I don't see an issue?

Your dad doesn't feel special the other 364 days of the year?

Nope, not my dad. I just wanted to know why this keeps getting planned on a holiday.

It has become that recently. It would be a "more than likely" yes. I don't see why it wouldn't be approved.

Because those days seem to be the only ones where everyone is available and the nearby/good outdoor range is open.

I didn't know it was a holiday when we discussed that date in the other thread, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out many of the other guys here hadn't realized it either.

Besides, it's FATHERs day! The worst thing that could happen is you bring your dad out to the range with you and he also gets to play!

Yea, I was more wondering (for you at least) if you'd gotten the approval yet or not.

Will I have a ton of cardboard at my job, if you need some more
to help set up targets.

And maybe some empty bottles since for whatever reason, they have not
been picking up the recycling in my neighborhood.

Usually, a request isn't approved or denied until about a week beforehand, since our new dickbag of a manager is too stupid to plan ahead.

Omar, larger pieces of cardboard are good (say 18x18 or bigger). Smaller pieces can be made to work too, but 18x18 is ideal.

As bottles go, they have to be at least ~1gal. I have some 3l bottles I've saved anyway because they look convincingly 1gal in size. 2l soda bottles won't cut it though.

Also, fire extinguishers (dry-chem) and such are ok as well.

I hope we have enough ammo to go around?

Will I will need ear protection, if you have extra.

Let's get organized ahead of time!

I'll need to take a trip to Walmart soon to see if they have re-stocked their ammo....

Looking forward to trying out the shotguns! Are you bringing any secret toys, like the Mac, Will?

Yes, of course the Mac is coming!

Definitely stock up on ammo!

As mentioned, I'll also have an extra supply of 9mm available at $12 per 50rd.

Everything else I'm rather short on (I think I have maybe 100rds of .45 ACP left).

O, no worries on the ears. I gotcha covered.

Woo! Gonna check Walmart probably tomorrow. I think I have 300 rounds of .45, but it will most likely be gone by the 17th.

Thank You Sir!

I'll see if I can bring a box of .45acp, I want to shoot the 1911's.

Yeah, Mike I'm with you I need to hit up Walmart again.
The selves are getting more and more empty.
:x

I might go shooting tomorrow and then I'll need more ammo.
Or I might just sucked it up and buy a 1000rds from GB.

I also have a few buddies with Glocks(nothing special) they might
come out.

O, I'll need a head-count. Sundays can sometimes be busy out there, so I'd like to give them a heads up that we'll have a group of ~"X" coming out.
