Hey whats up SoFla Dsm, my name is Rafael i'm 19 and I live in Miramar (near Hiatus, short drive to University Dr, it takes me about a half hour or less to get to the Checkers where you guys meet up) I bought my 97 Eclipse GS a little over a month ago, it's my very first car (so I don't know too much about cars, but i'm very eager to learn) everything on it is stock (except for the radio) it has almost 115k miles on it, and I really wanna tune the car up so that it lasts me a long time, it hasn't given me alot of trouble, but there are some things that I need to do soon that hopefully u guys can help me out with. Aside from a leaky sunroof, the engine consumes alot of oil, every now and then it burns alot enough to cover the streets in white smoke, there's also alot of oil coming out through the top of the motor. Right now i'm looking for a mechanic that knows alot about dsm's and can lead me in the right direction. here's some pics of my baby :)

Wow... that's one clean DSM. I think most of the guys here are pretty well versed with the 4G63, but less with the 420A.

If you need anything, feel free to get in touch. I've got a 420A too. I've torn mine (and others) completely apart, built one from the ground up, turbocharged it, etc..

yeah I kinda noticed after looking around that alot of u guys know the non rs/gs models better

is there anybody u can recommend for me to take it to? I wanna get the valve seals replaced. (I've read that the stock ones are garbage and with the amount of mileage I have they're most likely the reason for the oil on the motor) and I was told by someone on another forum that I should replace my head gasket while i'm at it. My goal with the car is to get it like this guy did after his timing belt broke on him. I envy his 420A lol

Have you checked/found/registered on the 2gnt forums? They're likely going to be a vital place for you to get information from since, as was mentioned, there is only one other 2g NT owner on this board.
