For those of you who remember/have ever had the honor to meet Raul Ortiz (Faze1).
He was taken away from us Friday night, in a freak accident on his way to
bike week. By another one of South Florida terrific drivers.
I left a comment on Mia Herald site that goes:

I'm at a loss for words right now and I HATE to be the bearer of bad news.

Wow, I can't believe it. Even though I think I only met him twice (once at a meet and once at Moroso), I felt that he was a good person. He will be missed.

Wow. That is very tragic.

I also only met him a few times, but he always seemed like a very nice, helpful, honest guy. It's very sad to hear that he was taken from this world in such a cruel way.

Raul was old school DSM.

His 1G "race" car was purchased brand new.

I want to say for the most part (down here)he had us and a few friends that
he made here and there. But most/all of his family and dearest friends
are up north in NJ and NY. So, he will be missed. Atleast they will get to
pay respect and give him a proper burial/goodbye.

The funeral is Saturday, the wake is Friday. He's being buried in Brooklyn...

Guys, I have his sister's e-mail and I was wondering if maybe we can
put together a little something to send her.

I going to e-mail her to find out where donations can be sent and/or if
there's anything else we can do to help.

What did you have in mind as a "little something" to send? I looked through my photos breifly, but found none of Raul. Perhaps some of the others here have photos they can send to the family.

I personally would prefer to send something a bit more substantial/meaningful than a financial contribution.

I did not know him but it sounds like he was a great person. My respects to all the dsmers who knew him and to all his loved ones and family.RIP
